You Have The Heart of a Warrior
Download MP3Summary:
1 Timothy 6:12 ESV
Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
“One of the paradoxes of the Christian life is that God’s gifts often require labor on our part. God brought the Israelites to the Promised Land and told them He was going to “give” it to them. This sounded great to the Israelites until they realized that, with the gift, came battles against giants and fortified cities!” - p. 243 Experiencing God Day by Day Devotional
2 Peter 1:3-5 (ESV)
3 His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, 4 by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. -
It’s by his promises, his Word, that we stand, fight and win. If he promised it, we can have it. If he said it, we can do it. Will you fight? Will you stay strong?
I know people that just do not have a warrior mentality. They are kind, caring and loving but to have what God has promised, they will have to become more like their/our heavenly Father.
Exodus 15 1-4 (NLT)
1 Then Moses and the people of Israel sang this song to the Lord:
“I will sing to the Lord,
for he has triumphed gloriously;
he has hurled both horse and rider
into the sea.
2 The Lord is my strength and my song;
he has given me victory.
This is my God, and I will praise him—
my father’s God, and I will exalt him!
3 The Lord is a warrior;
Yahweh, is his name!
4 Pharaoh’s chariots and army
he has hurled into the sea.
The finest of Pharaoh’s officers are drowned in the Red Sea.
Our God is a Warrior! We are created in his image. Jesus fought the battle and redeemed us! We too are called to the fight of faith. We are warriors!
