The Healing of Peter's Mother-in-law Part 2

The true account of the healing of Peter's mother-in-law if found in Matthew 8:14-17, Mark 1:29-33 and Luke 4:38

Matthew 8:14-17
14 And when Jesus entered Peter's house, he saw his mother-in-law lying sick with a fever. 15 He touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she rose and began to serve him. 16 That evening they brought to him many who were oppressed by demons, and he cast out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick. 17 This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah: “He took our illnesses and bore our diseases.”

Mark 1:29-33
29 Immediately, when they had come out of the synagogue, they came into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. 30 Now Simon’s wife’s mother lay sick with a fever, and immediately they told him about her. 31 He came and took her by the hand and raised her up. The fever left her immediately, and she served them. 32 At evening, when the sun had set, they brought to him all who were sick and those who were possessed by demons. 33 All the city was gathered together at the door. 34 He healed many who were sick with various diseases and cast out many demons. He didn’t allow the demons to speak, because they knew him.

Luke 4:38-40
38 And he arose and left the synagogue and entered Simon's house. Now Simon's mother-in-law was ill with a high fever, and they appealed to him on her behalf. 39 And he stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her, and immediately she rose and began to serve them. 40 Now when the sun was setting, all those who had any who were sick with various diseases brought them to him, and he laid his hands on every one of them and healed them.

All three accounts show that Peter's Mother-in-law, after she was healed, began to serve. Our desire for healing should be to better serve the purpose of God.

We see in James 4:3 that the motives matter. James 4:3 "You ask, and don’t receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures."

If you are having trouble receiving from God, check your motives to make sure they are right.

Keep trusting God is who he says he is.
