Summary:

Exodus 15:26 English Standard Version
saying, “If you will diligently listen to the voice of the Lord your God, and do that which is right in his eyes, and give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you that I put on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, your healer.”

Jehovah Rapha is a name for God in the Old Testament that means "the God who heals" in Hebrew. The Hebrew word "rapha" is usually translated as "heal" in Scripture, but it means "to mend, repair, or restore something to its normal or useful state".

The God who fixes you.

He is the great physician.  Doctors, nurses and medicine are fine but don’t put them above God. Don’t look at prayer as something that can help what the doctor or medicine is doing. Always look at doctors and medicine as something that can assist prayer.

Remember we are to honor God by giving Him and His Word first place in our lives.

We need to honor God for who he says he is. If he says he is our Healer, then praise him for that and not let anyone or anything take his place.

Again, the main point is to always look to God first. Give him first place in your life. Everything else takes a secondary position.

Psalm 103 English Standard Version
1 Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
    bless his holy name!
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits,
3 who forgives all your iniquity,
    who heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit,
who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
5 who satisfies you with good
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.

Are there benefits to knowing God? Yes. We need to acknowledge that. We need to yield to that truth. Let’s confess right now, “There are benefits to knowing and serving God.”

What are the top 2 benefits listed here in Psalm 103?
Forgiveness and healing.

Vs. 3 who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases.

According to verse 3, how many diseases does God heal?  All.

Are there any diseases too hard for God to heal?

Jeremiah 32:17 English Standard Version
‘Ah, Lord God! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you.

Is forgiveness and healing both benefits for the believer? Yes.
Is forgiveness and healing both God’s will for the believer? Yes.
That may be harder for you to agree with but if forgiveness and healing are both benefits, then don’t they have to be God’s will? Yes! The answer is yes!

How do we know it’s God’s will for us to be healed and walk in health?

His name is “the Lord who heals” and we know healing is a benefit of knowing him!!

Our Confession.
“I praise you Lord for you are the God who forgives and heals me!”

Blessings in Christ,
