Taking Your Medicine By A Confession of Faith
Download MP3In the last several episodes we have talked about honoring the Word of God for what it is, the Word of God. We’ve talked about how the Word of God is life and health to us according to Proverbs 4:20-22. We’ve also talked about the need to confess the Word of God, to speak it’s truth and that it’s true for you. Today I want to apply it to healing.
Let’s look again at Proverbs 4:20-22 ESV
Proverbs 4:20-22 ESV
20 My son, be attentive to my words;
incline your ear to my sayings.
21 Let them not escape from your sight;
keep them within your heart.
22 For they are life to those who find them,
and healing to all their flesh.
The Jubilee Translation reads, “For they are life unto those that find them and medicine to all their flesh.”
God’s Word is life, health, healing, it is medicine to us.
Now we know medicine only makes a difference when it is applied or taken.
So how do we apply or take the medicine of God’s Word?
By believing and speaking. We speak God’s truth over our lives including over our bodies.
Revelation 12:11 WEB
“They overcame him because of the Lamb’s blood, and because of the word of their testimony.”
How did you get saved? By confessing the Word.
Romans 10:9-10 WEB
9 that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation.
Remember we talked about how we walk in Christ is the same way we accepted Him which was by believing and confessing.
Colossians 2:6-7 World English Bible
6 As therefore you received Christ Jesus, the Lord, walk in him, 7 rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, even as you were taught, abounding in it in thanksgiving.
We speak God’s Word, especially the truth of God being our healer over our Body.
Let’s look at some Scriptures we should be confessings.
Exodus 15:26 God says of himself, “for I am the Lord, your healer.”
Our confession is “The Lord is my Healer!” Amen.
Romans 8:11 ESV
“If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.”
Our confession is, “The Spirit of God lives within me giving life to my body.”
1 Peter 2:24 ESV says, “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.”
Our confession is, “Jesus has already paid the price for my forgiveness and healing. Therefore, I walk and live in righteousness Christ provided for me and I walk in healing he provided for me!”
We will talk more about this in our next episode.
Blessings in Christ,
Tim Dumas
