What’s it mean to be taught?
Scripture teaches us that God is love.
1 John 4:8 English Standard Version
8 Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
That’s God’s love has been poured into us.
Romans 5:5 English Standard Version (ESV)
5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
Scripture teaches us what love acts like.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8 New International Version
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails.
Scripture teaches us what acts of love is. Keeping his Word
John 14:21 Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me.

2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. 4 For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.
Did you notice how love is connected to overcoming and faith? Faith works by love.
