Jesus Ministering Healing Sight To A Blind Man
Download MP3Jesus ministered healing in different ways.
Mark 8:22-25 (WEB)
22 He came to Bethsaida. They brought a blind man to him, and begged him to touch him. 23 He took hold of the blind man by the hand, and brought him out of the village. When he had spit on his eyes, and laid his hands on him, he asked him if he saw anything. 24 He looked up, and said, “I see men; for I see them like trees walking.” 25 Then again he laid his hands on his eyes. He looked intently, and was restored, and saw everyone clearly.
Here we see the true account of Jesus healing a man who was blind.
Now let’s go through this again and point out some things that will help us.
Verse 22 “They brought a blind man to him, and begged him to touch him.” Let me first say, we do not see any mention of the blind man’s faith. We do see evidence of faith in those who brought him. If they did not believe Jesus could and would minister healing to him, they wouldn’t have brought this man to Jesus. So we do see evidence of faith, just not in the man who was blind. That doesn’t mean he didn’t. He may have had some. It’s just not mentioned or there is not evidence of it accept for him being willing to go to Jesus.
Now notice what verse 23 says, “He took hold of the blind man by the hand, and brought him out of the village.” We see on other occasions where Jesus got people away from a crow before ministering to him. It’s important to understand the environment that you are in can help or hinder your faith and the ministry of the Holy Spirit. If God is leading you to get off by yourself for a while, then do it. I remember a certain time I felt led to get by myself. I actually checked into a hotel room and prayed and then soon after that, a need I had was met. I’m not saying to completely get away from everyone but there are times you need to be alone with God so that you can hear from him and he can do a work in you, helping you to receive from him.
The rest of verse 23 says, “When he had spit on his eyes, and laid his hands on him, he asked him if he saw anything.”
Healing is God's will but the method of healing, both ministering and receiving can differ.
However, you can always act in faith on the Word of God but if God leads you to do something specific, pay attention to that leading.
After Jesus ministered healing to the man by spitting on his eyes and laying hands on him, Jesus asked the man if he could see. His answer is in verse 24, “He looked up, and said, “I see men; for I see them like trees walking.”
Here is what we know. This man was blind, Jesus ministered healing to him, and now he can seem some. He can see a little bit. He’s not blind anymore but he doesn’t have the full healing of his eyes.
It’s important to know that healing can be ministered or received in part. In other words, the healing is not done yet. The work of healing was not completed. Progress was made in this man’s eyes but there was not yet a full healing. As we are believing God for healing and ministering his healing to ourselves through faith and acting on the Word, it may not all come at once. It may be progressive. When it is progressive or when you have seen some progress, don’t think that’s it and stop. Continue ministering healing. That’s what Jesus did.
Verse 25 “Then again he laid his hands on his eyes. He looked intently, and was restored, and saw everyone clearly.”
Jesus ministered healing again and the healing became complete.
When believing God for his promises, stay with it! Amen.
