Growing In The Nature of Christ - Part 1
Download MP3By learning what the Scriptures says is true about God and about us as new creations in Christ, we can grow and take on the nature of Christ.
We all need to grow so that the love and power of God is manifesting more in our life, but it’s going to be by faith in God for it’s God that causes the growth and until we realize that our growth will be hindered.
Philippians 2:12-13 ESV
12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
Philippians 1:6 ESV
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
God causes the growth. We need to learn how to cooperate with that growth through faith and obedience, meaning believing and acting on the Word.
Example: Problem of being Irritable towards others.
Romans 5:5 ESV
and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
1 Corinthians 15:10
But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me.
Romans 5:2
Through him we have also obtained access by faith[a] into this grace in which we stand, and we[b] rejoice[c] in hope of the glory of God.
2 Corinthians 4:13
Since we have the same spirit of faith according to what has been written, “I believed, and so I spoke,” we also believe, and so we also speak,
Colossians 2:6
Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him,
Romans 10:9-10
9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
Hebrews 10:23
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.
God's Love is in us as new creations in Christ. That love may not be manifesting but it can if we will believe it and begin to confess it is true in our lives. We access this love, this grace given us, by faith and our confession of faith is the key
