Fight - Part 2
Download MP3Summary:
This is the second episode of "Fight".
We Fight By Standing
Ephesians 6:13-14 English Standard Version
13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
After you have done all to stand… Stand!
We try to stand without doing all to stand.
If you don’t know how to stand, why not? You have his Word. Read it.
It Starts With Humbleness
James 4:6-7
6 But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
What does that look like? God I need you. God I believe you. God I trust you.
Humbleness isn’t this. “I’m doing all I know to do.”
Humbleness is looking to go and saying “Teach Me”.
What we should be saying is what David said in Psalm 25:4-5
Psalm 25:4-5 New Living Translation
4 Show me the right path, O Lord;
point out the road for me to follow.
5 Lead me by your truth and teach me,
for you are the God who saves me.
All day long I put my hope in you.
Or what David prayed in
Psalm 86:11 New Living Translation
11 Teach me your ways, O Lord, that I may live according to your truth!
Being humble and seeking God’s truth, direction and wisdom is first knowing he will do it Through his Word.
Romans 1:16 English Standard Version
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
Humbleness is abiding in Christ, by knowing, yielding to and living out his Word which is an outward demonstration of your love for him.
John 14
21 Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.”
