Don't Grow Wearing in Doing What You Need To Do To Grow
Download MP3Summary:
“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” - Galatians 6:9 ESV
We are to not grow weary in doing…..
1 Timothy 6:12 ESV
“Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.”
Mark 11:24 ESV
“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
The word in Mark 11:24 “received” is from the Greek word, “lambanō” which means to take. So you could read this scripture as believe you have taken it, or taken possession of it, and it will be yours.
“lambanō” is the root word for “epilambanomai” found in 1 Timothy 6:12 where it says, “Take hold of the eternal life…”
Mark 11:24 says believe you have done it and 1 Timothy 6:12 says to do it. Do what? Take hold. Seized it. Make it your possession.
This is active. This is part of the doing good we are not grow wearing in doing.
Often times we have the mindset that a if our heart is right that will eventually have what we have asked of God so we don’t press on. We don’t pursue. We don’t actively and consistently seek, yet all these things is what the Scriptures tell us to do.
Matthew 7:7 says seek and you will find.
2 Timothy 2:22 says pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace
Philippians 3:14 says to press on.
Let me give you another.
2 Timothy 2:15 WEB
“Give diligence to present yourself approved by God, a workman who doesn’t need to be ashamed, properly handling the Word of Truth.”
Now I know God will bless bless people. I know he looks at the heart. But I want you to understand the Scripture speaks of actively seeking him. Actively growing. Actively learning what the will of the Lord is and how to walk in it.
These are the things we are not to grow weary in doing, in doing!
I want to have what God has for me. I want you to have what God has for you, but you we got to grow. We have to look to the Word to see what it says believe and do.
Some will say, “I’m doing all I know to do.” My thoughts are but are you growing or are you standing still. Are you seeking God for answers in what to do and what his will is or are you sitting and waiting for God to do something.
Sitting and doing nothing isn’t what the Scripture says not to get tired of doing.
God can move and he does. People are miraculously heard. But, the people I know that have believed God for themselves, have all diligently sought God, stayed in his Word, grew their faith and learned what God’s will is and how to receive it.
A farmer can have a good heart but unless he works the land and sows seeds then takes care of them, he’s not going to have a harvest.
If you are needing answers from God, then spend time seeking him. Read his Word. Read books that help you understand. Listen to teaching that helps you understand the truth of his Word.
Grow in the things of God and don’t grow wearing in growing so that you can take hold of what God wants for you.
God loves you. Seek him. Seek his will.
