A Merry Heart And Strong Heart

If our hearts are troubled, we need to focus on actively believing Jesus.
Outline:

A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.. Proverbs 17:22 ESV

Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life. Proverbs 4:23 ESV

Jesus said, “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.” (John 14:1)

We talked about even in prison, at midnight, Paul and Silas were praising God. In doing so they were protecting their hearts.

It’s easy for self-pity, anger, resentment, depression, discouragement to come into our hearts and if it does, we become weak. We have to keep your hearts strong and of good courage.

Proverbs 18:14 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
The strong spirit of a man sustains him in bodily pain or trouble, but a weak and broken spirit who can raise up or bear?

We will face trials in life but we need to have the mindset of it’s God’s will that I overcome, not a mindset of feeling sorry for ourselves or a mindset of defeat.

Listen to what the Scriptures say in Psalm 34:19
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all.

Amen. As Christians, we should always look for God’s strength, and provision in our lives and we must guard our hearts so that we can stay strong of heart and of good courage.

Let me share a prayer found in Ephesians 3 which is part of what Paul prayed for the believers in Ephesus.

Prayer from Ephesians 3 ESV
14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family[c] in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

God will strengthen us in our inner being, our spirits, our hearts, and that strength is comes from being rooted and grounded in the knowledge fo his love for you.

This is our foundation to stay strong and of good cheer, the fact that God loves us.

Wake up in the morning and begin by thanking God for his love. Pray and ask God to continue to give you revelation of the reality of his love for you. It will change your life.

Blessings,
